And around and around and around we go ... again. Come in for a landing and take a deep breath. The last decade is history. Carey isn't here any more. Unpredictable that defense was decimated by injuries. Too early to judge Hammock. Better discussion/debate might be what next.

Carey left behind a declining culture, it will take time to rid of his influence. Give him some time, he will turn things around. Like someone said though, we really wont know until after Year 3

Like to read about looking ahead ... For example ... altho early, does Hammock make staff changes? He put this one together pretty quick. ... does Northern hit the transfer road hard ... maybe nit and pick FCS in the portal ... what do we really know about the new offense that we didn't know last spring, when all we heard was "wait and see" ... etc etc

What does this say regarding who he delegated authority to? Again, since not a soul can expound on what positives, they have seen regarding this coaching, I have no recourse other then post it in a new thread. How funny it is ( to me ), that we listened to Hammock brag about a total change in the offense was coming to end up with the same conclusion, and replica of coach Carey's offense last year..crickets..more crickets

The positive of coach Hammock is hope. That is it. Hope might never equal wins. With Carey we knew what he was. The occasional consistent big win against a P5 school. Doing it at Temple. He moved on. I supported him but ok he moved on. I remember the Bowl game in Detroit. Plenty of Carey hecklers. Probably good he moved on for many fans. Myself I hold onto hope Hammock can make NIU football exciting again. My hope could be wrong but to me worth it. I think the team last year was real close to a losing record. 8-6 is close to 6-8 with my math. Maybe my finance degree does not help here. Lol. Anyways the debate rolls on. New coach new system. I provide no answers. I just hope Hammock brings NIU football back to being exciting and winning of course

Harbison Transferring
How quickly we forget that just 3 years ago (2016) we finished 5 - 7 with a couple of the wins that easily could've been losses. We even lost to WIU that year. It's not like 2017 and 2018 we dominated the MAC. In reality, we were just good enough to win the MAC West/MACC in 2018. We also had Sutton Smith who singlehandedly changed the outcome of several games in 2017 and 2018. Maybe we should give Hammock a little slack considering he inherited a just good enough team that became plagued with injuries.

It’s funny to know MD drinks on weekends. This is the guy who last year said:
“how dare you criticize a student athlete like Childers. I won’t stand for people attacking young men when it’s the coaches fault!”

And now he says:
“ let’s get rid of these bad student athletes so our coach can install his program”

I dont know how many people are familiar with the concept of confirmation bias, but I know MD has no idea what that means.

Yep, I believe it was another year of the infamous QB shuffles.

I do not remember being manhandled in MAC games, like we have been this year..I will research, and get back, but I think we all know the answer

Any chance Bowers jumps on the portal train and leaves our sinking ship also?

RE: Harbison Transferring
Is there any official announcement that Harbison is actually transferring or are we just trusting a message board poster's word?

Not verified but when you search posters’ histories it’s easy to see when it’s a parent.

RE: Harbison Transferring
so we are taking a posters word for it...? That's kind of sad... while it may very well be true I think we need to be better as a fanbase and not feed into these rumors until there is official word from either the player or the school. \

Season ends on Tuesday so I’m sure word will be released shortly thereafter. If anything comes out, I’d bet it will be from the players because NIU likes to keep news secret.
